- Bon Secours-St. Joseph Hospital Board of Directors: 1998 - present, serving on the Audit Committee.

- YMCA Board of Directors: 1999 - present, serving on the Building and Executive Committees.

- Friends of the Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserves, Inc. Board of Directors 1999 - present.  The purpose is to support the protection, restoration, management and responsible public use of Preserve lands.

-  Charlotte Harbor National Estuarine Program (NEP):  1996-98, Technical Advisory Committee Member.  The role of the TAC is to define priority problems and contract with private environmental consulting firms and governmental agencies to conduct research and generate technical data to support a Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan for the Harbor. 

Appointments by the Governor of Florida:

• Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD).  Appointed by the Governor to the District Governing Board, served from 1985 to 1990 as a member of the Regulation Committee.  The District employees over 200 environmental scientists and has offices is Bartow, Venice, Tampa, Brooksville, and Inverness.
•  Peace River Basin Board of SWFWMD, Chairman Ex Officio 85-90.
• Charlotte Harbor Natural Resource Management and Planning Committee.  The Committee which was charged under Chapter 380, Area of Critical State Concern Legislation, with producing the Charlotte Harbor Management Plan from 1978 through 1981. 

- Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center.  Served on the Board of
Directors for three years during the planning, design and construction of the facility located along Alligator Creek off Burnt Store Road.  Primary responsibilities involved fund raising and architect, engineer, and contractor selection.

- Charter Review Commission: Appointed by the Charlotte County Commission to the Charter Review Commission.

- The Charlotte Assembly:  Appointed by the Charlotte County Commission to the Charlotte Assembly.

-  St. Joseph's Hospital.  Co-Chairman of Capital Campaign raising funds used to construct a major facility expansion including the 4 story building and birthing suites.  This was a one year community effort of many people in the local health care industry, general public and business. 

-  West Virginia Wesleyan College, Southwest Florida Mature Learners Program.   Served as Chairman of the Board and traveled to West Virginia with the first senior class of 13 graduates in 1982.  This successful program was adopted by Florida Southern College whose facility is now located on King's Highway in Desoto County.
