Freeze Dried Sperm
"a lifeless powder"

A good friend of mine purchased some freeze dried sperm on the Internet.  When the sperm cells arrived we opened the package, and the material was a gray powder inside a small clear plastic bottle.  Following the instructions, we mixed the dry powder with the water provided.  The stuff changed color a little, but it just sat there; we kind of expected it to start crawling around.

We ran to the lab and placed a drop of the stuff on a slide and viewed it under a microscope.  Schzam! there were millions of sperm all beating their tails and zooming from one side of the slide to the other.

Following the instructions, we used a plastic syringe with a long rounded tip to place the sperm deep in the vagina near what felt like the cervix.  We repeated this process every day for a week.

In three weeks we did a pregnancy test, and the cow was positive.  Soon she gave birth to a beautiful calf.

Was the freeze dried powder "alive?"

Once we added the water, the chemicals went into solution and began reacting with each other producing life.
