8. Enzyme Activity ( temp., pH, cofactors, inhibitors)

Enzyme Activity: A cell's chemical and physical environment affects enzyme activity.

For example:
    temperature
    pH
    cofactors ( e.g. vitamins)
    inhibitors
        competitive (compete for active site)
        noncompetitive (interact with enzyme at a site other an the active site)
        allosteric inhibitors

Competitive and noncompetitive inhibitors are illustrated below.
